So, Australian club producer Air Max 97 has continually proven himself over the course of the past year, releasing numerous EP’s and singles, including this, the only vocal track from Trax Couture’s World Series Vol. 6. While other EP’s have proven how hard his productions can go, “Reflex Glamorised” shows how much Air Max 97 trusts simplicity in order to make a softer track still pop off like a banger. Equating water drops with vain, ambition ideas like glamour and success feels new-and that glamour for 2015 does by no means mean lots of excess-rather it’s organic and elemental. And using a computer to create organic but highly mathematical sounds is Air Max 97’s forte. “Reflex Glamorised” feels like a step forward for both producers- Divoli’s vocals are cleaner and more precise than ever before and Air Max 97’s beats are hugging the lyrics rather than risking meandering into esoterica.
