Sweat Equity is really gripping NYC by the limbs and joints. Take tonight, for example, when JX Cannon & Flex 1000 (future Sweat Equity member) game at 1265 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn with a plethora/smattering of other mass producers:
Back to Sweat Equity, though: Weed Farm, EP 1, Release, and Edging. That’s aside from the look they fronting physically — like those Canal Street DJ CD-Rs lingering on tables and in backpacks — flipping texts and symbols and clever titles like the beats burn’t and turn’t upon dem discs. As well, mentality flip is a HUGE commodity of Sweat Equity’s musical muscle. Sweat Equity is building the NYC club scene with a flex that needed to happen years ago, forbearing the fruits of future sounds, fashion, dancing, spacial ranges, and beyond. So, a blessing has been bestowed upon Tiny Mix Tapes from Sweat Equity in the form of a mix curated by the label owner, Daniel “Club-Creatine” Creahan, fronting top tracks by Stress, Pləbeian, and JX Cannon. Potentially, W/E21 was also used during a Whatever 21 fashion show for their new line of threads — as Daniel makes up half of Mind Dynamics with Brian (owner of Whatever 21) — but who knows if this even happened. Akin to the Pope shitting in Central Park’s woods, underground club goings-on in Brooklyn are happening everywhere all the time, unannounced and informally low-key. Show up tonight. Witness another brick in the club climate climax. Sweat Equity is just getting started.
