What the fuuuuuuuuuuuuck is Orange Milk Records doing releasing anything to do with metal? Considering the label is from two areas I spent a lot of my life — and most of that life was spent listening to metal, hardcore, post-whatever — I’m sorta down with the Columbus, Ohio trio Drose because of their technique of taking that Sword Heaven experi-metal vibe, and stretching it into a puddy of darkness. Like a vast just boiling to be belched back up, “The Man” takes an aggressively captivating atmosphere where the vocals seem trapped within the music, making the listener feel like the real criminal. As if playing “The Man” reminds and retells purveyors they are the ones rehashing this imprisonment of potential evil, harnessed on vinyl (and digital release) entitled Boy Man Machine, and it can be conjured up this April 8 on Orange Milk Records. Though, curiosity kills in the blackness of night, so try out “The Man” by Drose (below) this morning before things get a little more daunting outside:
