The poignant cry of a trumpet gives way to brooding guitars, accented by dreamy saxophones, and powerful yet effortless arrangement creates a soulful melody and showcases honest words, fervent and devout in their feeling. Sorrow and hope intertwine and search for resolution.
Driving aimless afternoons under too hot sun, the pomegranate bushes growing there long before you took your first breath, their fruit once sweet and bountiful is now dying, drying, it hangs rusted on burned branches. Change sweeps subtle and slow, years past and perhaps nothing was ever how you once remembered it; all just a feverdream of a life long past, sun bleached over endless summers into non-existence. Streets and faces, familiar as the scars on your knees now so uncertain, obscured more each time you pass them. Hazy skies and stagnant air that hangs heavy; the season unrelenting. Black tar roads double back upon themselves, a labyrinth you never intended to be lost in. Salvation is always just out of reach, but still you must keep reaching.
Beyond this scorched earth is a promise of light, it filters through evergreen branches. Memory slips as it is meant to; blushing windowpanes lost their color years ago; forget them. No matter how many times you trace your steps, you can never find the path back again, imprints from the soles of your shoes have long since faded. Turning in endless circles proves fruitful, eyes closed against hot wind, understanding blooms. The pomegranate bushes will never bear fruit again; alchemy only comes in the form of moving forward.
