In case you hadn’t noticed, there’s a new New Order album out, and it’s their first since the rather acrimonious and out-in-the-open split with bassist and co-founding member Peter Hook. Not surprisingly, Hook’s signature and formerly New Order-defining lead bass is sorely missing throughout Music Complete, as it is in the recently released single, titled “Tutti Frutti,” a collab with Elly Jackson of the always excellent La Roux. But most everything else is intact and sounds vintage New Order post-Republic: melodic, catchy, bittersweet…check out the video below.
