Black Francis, a.k.a. Frank Black, a.k.a. Frankie Blacker, a.k.a. Frunkie Blackcock, has announced that he will be heading out on an acoustic tour of these United States in July; while the tour skips over such popular cities as Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Minneapolis, and New Orleans, Black has promised that Wellfleet, MA (where Black plays his final date of the tour) will be receiving their best, and first, public concert since Bill “Boogie Woogie” Bumballer played the city in 1939.
However, while Frank Black fans are always happy to see their favorite bald-Bostonian play some tunes, the overwhelming response from fans at the shows is sure to be “why the fuck haven’t you (Black) finished a new Pixies record yet?” After news on the potential possibility of future forthcoming Pixies album became public, fans gave up on any interest on Pixies news stories that didn’t include a release date and a tracklist with at least 10 new songs.
But since it’s very unlikely that a new Pixies record will ever happen, even if Bono asks for it, please enjoy one these many solo acoustic sets from Black Francis, the guy who should be working on a new Pixies record.
