Look, there’s no way around it. It’s been a dark few years. Yet, on certain nights, when there’s not a cloud in the sky and the moon is positioned just right, you’ll swear you can hear the faint sounds of an opening saxophone salvo. Carly Rae Jepsen’s life-affirming hit factory E•MO•TION echoes in the air, nearly four full years later.
Since then, we’ve gotten a few tastes — some b-sides, a PC Music track, a dream Charli XCX collab — but have been left sitting by the telephone, waiting for the call of the next full CRJ album.
But now, it seems like our pleas may finally be getting answered.
Following a routine week-long tease cycle on social media, Carly Rae Jepsen has unveiled “Now That I Found You” and “No Drug Like Me.” YUP: that’s two — count ‘em, TWO — new tracks! (Two new tracks off a presumed forthcoming album that will also include “Party For One,” one might speculate?)
