Charli XCX plots May release for new album, preceded by a mixtape

After the rave review we wrote for her 2016 EP Vroom Vroom (#8 on our year-end list), we all hoped and prayed that Charli XCX would continue her slam-dunk collaboration with SOPHIE. Well, hallelujah, PC Music Lords, because she’s done just that, with an album slated for May release and a mixtape on the way sometime before then to hold us over while we’re gettin’ impatiently glinty in our G6s. Album guests will include Lil Yachty, who featured on admittedly disappointing first single “After the Afterparty,” but details otherwise are scant at this point. What we do know is that she had hired A. G. Cook as her creative director. According to Charli, the hiring convo went something like this: “I was just like ‘Hey, do you want to be my creative director?’ He was like ‘Yeah, cool.’”

YEAH, COOL!!!!!!!!!!!
