Man, don’t you just hate having to wait out side project bullshit? Like when Alec Ounsworth went all “hey, man, I got other shit I need to do right now” on us in 2009 and put out that Mo Beauty thing and that Flashy Python Skin and Bones thing? Dude, I was all like “WTF! Make another CYHSH record, already!” Even though the last one of those was “kinda dicey” according to my Blogspot, I still liked putting on that first one for long car rides and gettin’ ready to go out on big Friday nights.
Luckily, now that having ‘so much more to say’ or whatever is comfortably out of his system, Ounsworth and his band have finally announced the release of their third full-length, Hysterical. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Anyway, this time around, the band worked with Modest Mouse/St. Vincent/Walkmen producer John Congleton, instead of that punk-ass button-pusher Dave Fridmann. The results come out in the US on September 20 and in the rest of the world on September 12, and as per usual with CYHSY, it’ll be self-released, self-distributed, self-promoted, self-reviewed, self-sold, self-leaked, self-burned, self-ripped, and self-recycled. Or at least the first one. Check out the teaser trailer and some euro-shows below. Oh, and they’re also reissuing their self-titled debut on vinyl on June 14. Okay, byyyye!
