Isn’t this just always the way it goes, readers? I mean: one minute, you’re an as-yet-unknown Netherlands-based producer working under the moniker DJ Missdevana and throwing hybridized slices of house music — of a niche strain of Dutch club music known as “Bubbling,” which fuses classic UK funky and house styles — onto your SoundCloud page; and the very next minute, you’re busting out your debut EP for the ever-adventurous, London-club-foundation-shakin’ Nervous Horizon label. Typical, annoying, accidental fame! Oh well. She’ll just have to persevere, I guess.
Meanwhile, speaking of “club-shaking,” you might wanna be careful; the three-song Brass EP — which is due out March 3 — is some serious audio TNT, featuring enough slamming percussion tracks and propulsive, disorienting loops and samples to bring a few buildings down. Case-in-point is the EP’s middle track “Chakra,” which basically takes your classic dancehall jam over to the brickwall and repeatedly rams its sweaty face into it. Take a listen to the carnage for yourself down below. But… I’d make sure you’re, like, safely in an open field first.
Brass EP tracklist:
01. Brass
02. Chakra
03. Third Eye
