According to a report on Pitchfork, recently-reunited cult-favorites Godspeed You! Black Emperor have begun working on new material.
The post-rock blockbusters, who reunited last year for an aptly titled Reunion Tour, revealed (through bandmember Bruce Cawdon and an interview with Montreal’s Voir magazine) that the band will convene after the end of their July tour to discuss the logistics and creativistics of a new album.
The important details, such as a release date or record label, have yet to be revealed, but music journalists (such as myself) are already fighting in bare-knuckle cage matches for the right to learn the juicy details of this highly anticipated project.
