Ian William Craig shares new track and announces UK/European tour, still refuses to apologize for having three first names

Sigh. I know it. I feel your First-World Pain: it feels like Centres — the new Ian Williams Craig album that is (still) due out July 8 on FatCat’s “post-classical” imprint 130701 — is just NOT COMING FAST ENOUGH. Ugh.

And the one single we’ve been tossed in the interim, “A Single Hope,” just ain’t cutting the mustard anymore either. Harumph.

Luckily, no one (and I mean NO ONE) understands First-World Pain like NPR. Which is why the good people over there recently premiered another satisfyingly drone-y, cooing, static-laced single from Craig’s forthcoming, drone-y, cooing, and static-laced long-player. This one’s called “The Nearness,” and you can also check it out via Soundcloud down below, just in case you aren’t feelin’ opening any additional tabs on your browser today. (See? First-World Pain strikes again.)

Oh, also: Craig will totally be playing his first-ever shows in the UK and Europe after the album’s release this August. So, if you happen to live in that First-World instead of the America-First-World that I do, you’re EVEN MORE in luck. So let’s all just agree to turn these frowns upside-down and enjoy this wealth of sad, gloomy, introspective music news together… shall we? We can do this. We shall overcome. :)
