Noise fans rejoice as Jason Lescalleet embarks on punishing monthly release schedule for the indefinite future

U2 and Apple might have unlocked a backdoor to your hard drive in a genius/stupid marketing gimmick to force music down your throat, but Jason Lescalleet is adopting a much more subtle approach.

Starting from right now, Lescalleet is releasing an album per month via his Bandcamp site. There is no set end to this ambitious project, and to keep listeners on their toes (in addition to the discombobulating noise/feedback/minimalist music he makes) Lescalleet will not be keeping these monthly gems on sale indefinitely. As soon as a new release is posted, the previous one is gone, so don’t hesitate when a new album is dropped.

All this basically means is that Lescalleet aficionados are going to be willingly and consistently clogging their hard drives with music they actually want to hear for the foreseeable future. Take that, U2.

Being the hardcore experimentalist that he is, we’re guessing that all these monthly dispatches won’t diminish from his excellent collaborative work, e.g. the most bodacious The Abyss that he released with Kevin Drumm earlier this year.

The first release, This Is What I Do - Volume Two is available now:

This Is What I Do - Volume Two

01. Autumn Leaves (October 2014)
02. Friends of Friends
03. Conundrum
04. Dwayne and the Bluebird Prophecy
