Red Bull Music Academy live-streamed an interview today with Madlib, who took the opportunity to announce a new joint album with Freddie Gibbs. Details are slim, but Madlib said it’s titled Bandana, which was confirmed via a tweet by Freddie Gibbs.
Bandana follows 2014’s excellent Piñata, which TMT writer Gabriel Samach described as “one of the most refreshing, inventive hip-hop albums […] since Madlib and MF Doom teamed up a decade ago.”
Revisit their track “Harold’s” and stay tuned for more Madlib/Gibbs news soon.
