Psychic Sounds Ensemble (feat. members of Smegma, MSHR, and Million Brazilians) brews up new album Sonic Fermentations, shares teaser video

Psychic Sounds Ensemble, a collaborative experimental free jazz outfit featuring Ju Suk Reet Meate, Oblivia and David Morgan of Smegma; Birch Cooper and Brenna Murphy of MSHR; and Grant Corum and Suzanne Stone of Million Brazilians, is set to unleash a sonic documentation of their efforts.

Sonic Fermentations is the title of the record, and it’s being released via Grant Corum’s Psychic Sounds imprint October 13. The album is described as “a volatile vat of saxophone trills, whistling lasers, conch moans, tense string vibrato, rattle snake shake, knife sharpening, gong burst, eastern flute, percussive clang, ratchet stir, guided all by the sway of upright bass to soothe the highly expressive ooze.”

You can preview the record via a teaser video for “Batch 2,” courtesy of MSHR. Head here to check out further information and pre-orders. As Psychic Sounds writes, “Sip it or shoot it, either way will result in stimulating both head and visceral.”
