Apparently the dream of Win and Régine for the summer of 2010 involves not sleeping. The most visible duo from Arcade Fire will be rounding the summer festival circuit, so far confirmed to be performing at Reading, Leeds, and Lollapalooza. In addition, the group has a new album coming out that season, and it’s sure to push Neon Bible from everyone’s collective consciousness even more than the album has done on its own.
Not satisfied with highly anticipated albums and massive festival dates, the anthemic indie rockers are now reportedly working with spectacular director and music video visionary Spike Jonze on a short film that will hopefully be exactly like the Kanye West/Jonze collaboration We Were Once a Fairytale.
The project apparently features a lot of actors in their late teens, is being filmed in Austin, TX, and is about friends growing apart. Aw, shucks. Let’s hope that it’s half as good as the last time this band and this director teamed up (the excellent movie trailer for Where the Wild Things Are). Actually, let’s save those wishes for the new Arcade Fire album.
