Just in time for the dark, dying days of winter comes two fancy reissues of Swans LPs White Light from the Mouth of Infinity and Love of Life. You’ll be able to cop the albums as a limited vinyl box set, complete with original, restored artwork featuring Deryk Thomas paintings, plus something described as a “2500 micron black lined box - with original logo in silver foil block in black paper,” which frankly sounds like something an alien who’s trying to sound human would say, and I’m not sure I trust it. Micron box. Submit to your secret space overlords.
Anyway, you’ll also get a coupla rare-ass posters, an outtakes/rarities/live recordings CD, and natch, a download code for both albums. Those who fear alien domination can also purchase a less flashy 3CD box set (including a bonus disc) or get the reissues as individual vinyl or digital albums. This is the first time both albums will be available on vinyl since their original 1991 and 1992 release dates.
Meanwhile, Swans devotees can expect new material in late spring 2016, as the band just recorded basic vocals and tracks in Texas with engineer John Congleton and Michael Gira as producer. The band will continue work in Seattle and Berlin.
