Okay, Dr. Hypnotist — WTF? I have, like, a million questions for you right now.
Like: first, HOW LONG HAVE I BEEN ASLEEP?
And: when THE HELL did Mexico-city-based, jungle/electronic master-mangler known as Smurphy pull the old “Gandolf the Gray from Lord of the Rings” trick of dying and coming back to life as the new, improved entity known as Upgrayedd Smurphy?
And: when THE HELL were you gonna tell me that the new-and-improved priestess of chaotic drum & bass recently dropped an ENTIRE NEW ALBUM full of that shit (entitled HYPNOSYS, produced and mastered by Upgrayedd Smurphy herself, and featuring 0riginal artwork by Robert Grayon) via the R-CH-V label? And, like, what’s this album’s deal? What’s it SOUND LIKE??
And furthermore—how the HELL do you use the word “pentadimensionality” in a sentence???
Actually, you know what? Save your sneaky, unscrupulous breath, doc; I’m going straight to the album-ordering page for some REAL ANSWERS…let me see now…
This album is a musical interpretation of the process an individual goes through with the knowledge of hypnosis. Elements allusive to the pentadimensionality of thought - which is the whole, while the individual is the cause. In this album, they intersperse - forming auditory textures that swim in a sea of cars in the middle of traffic, in the middle of the night, amidst the insomnia that living in one of the largest cities in the world causes.
Smurphy died and came back with a new alias and an Upgrayedd. She came back also to her natal Mexico City (#CDMX) that inspired her to create this record, that is as complicated and chaotic as the monster city.
Oh.
Well.
Wow, that explains…pretty much everything.
