Most people tend to spend their springtime doing things like gardening, hiding Easter eggs, buying fancy new dresses, polluting Mexico, fucking, and generally just having a bright and shiny time in the bright and shiny weather.
But if you’re like me, then springtime is a cathartic six weeks where the cobwebs and maddening depression of winter slowly disappear from before my red, weepy eyes. Because of my strange behavior in the pastel season, I find it necessary to find music that retains a certain darkness in the face of energy and exhuberance. Well, boy did I cream my pants when The Dead Weather announced their springtime tour! Now I can enjoy my yearly Winter Depressurizing with Jack White’s second best side-project!
