Brooklyn’s Liturgy sign to Thrill Jockey, plan to release second LP in the spring, also plan to weird-out the South this week

·

Minimalist arty farty black metal band Liturgy are hitting the road for most of November, stopping mainly around the East Coast, South, and mid-Atlantic. Though, calling them “black metal” seems weird to me, even though black metal is for nerds. I mean, I know they’re all “rawr” and shit, but there is also a faint prettiness to their music. Anyway, they just signed with Thrill Jockey and will release their sophomore LP in the spring of 2011. Definitely check them out if they hit your town. I won’t, because they’re playing my town on a Sunday, and that’s THE LORD’S DAY.

Their debut full-length Renihilation is out now on 20 Buck Spin. Tourdates below.
