It has been one prolific year for Talib Kweli. Dude has already seen the release of one album earlier this spring as half of Reflection Eternal with producer Hi-Tek, and now he’s gearing up for the January 25 release of his next solo album, Gutter Rainbows. The new album will be the first-ever release from Kweli’s Talibra imprint, which is pretty rad. Hear the lead-off track, “After the Rain,” produced by 88-Keys, over here.
In other news, Talib Kweli is the most interesting man in the world. (Sorry Dos Equis guy.) Did you know he studied experimental theatre at NYU and is a spokesman/mentor for an after-school music program? I just got that from Wikipedia, America’s premiere information source. Next week his entry could say he’s collaborating with Justin Bieber on an album of showtunes and training ferrets to ride motorized boats. Then again, WHO’S TO SAY HE’S NOT????
