Charlotte Gainsbourg announces double album. Okay, someone else probably announced it for her, but you know what I’m sayin’.

Hey, everyone. My computer broke down the other day, so please bear with me. I’m currently getting my entire news feed by peering though my neighbor’s window with binoculars so I can read his screen when he’s on Pitchfork, composing my own stories based on whatever glimpses I catch on my mom’s old Underwood 5 typewriter, and then submitting those stories to TMT HQ via homing pigeon. It’s crazy.

But anyway, according to something I think I saw today, either the talented actress and songwriter Charlotte Gainsbourg or the 115-year-old Charlotte, Grand Duchess of Luxembourg — not quite sure which — will be releasing a new 7-inch single on Record Store Day (this Saturday, April 16! I think! What day is it today?). The single is a split with Dublin-based folk-rock outfit Villagers, who contribute a track called “Set the Tigers Free.” For her part, Gainsbourg (Luxembourg?) sings a new track called “Memoir,” which was written by this Villagers guy. His name is either Conor O’Brien or Conan O’Brien, and whichever O’Brien it was also co-produced the track for whichever Charlotte is singing it.

“Memoir” is apparently significant in that it will also appear on a new double album that Charlotte Whomever is planning to release this fall on the Because label. Uh, the new album is either called Live and Unreleased or Lithe and Unrehearsed. I’ve been trying to determine which one makes more sense from the context, but honestly, they both sound about right (especially if that undead Grand Duchess theory pans out). I didn’t see a release date because my neighbor went back to his homepage too fast, but I did happen to notice that it’ll include previously unreleased songs and a DVD documentary of a road trip.

Oh, and Charlotte will also release “Memoir” as a digital single on April 25 because, you know, fuck Record Store Day.
