Hanz - Mix for KALTBLUT Magazine Mix for KALTBLUT Magazine

·

Since Reducer, the thing that’s interested me MOST about Hanz’s take on musical fluidity is the unpredictability of it. You got producers that flip what people usually expect in hilarious grandeur. Then there’s those intent on just HARD going in. With Hanz, you can’t expect anything. Technically, you can say Reducer sounds akin to the Swans, right? I think the third or fourth track there’s a Gira vocal sample. And in less of a commentary, more of “Will anyone listen to thi… fuckshit, I don’t care, let’s just feel it” sorta swag. Not to miss-quote or nothing, though. Only time this holisthetician ever reached out to me was with this Mix for KALTBLUT Magazine, which is pretty much Reducer remixed into so much more of that E+E random leveling up.

However, our Q3 wasn’t wrong about Reducer (which I wrote, so… bias? lemme rephrase); Mix for KALTBLUT Magazine isn’t necessarily a better version or redux of Reducer, but it takes all the elements highlighted in your most sped-out existence of night, forgets the direction from which you came, and leaves you danked out upon the moss-covered stoops around the edge of town. Dangle your feet. Feel as though the drop off runs-on forever.
