If salt of the Earth is mortar’d into a fine grain of, “OK, that seems dependable,” than Pilot’s Salt takes flight on a road a little less traveled these days. And as Parashi has made rounds across the noise and sound-art circuit since the beginning of this decade, establishing the name within a slew of crew/respekt labels, it’s about time he’s on LP. Pilot’s Salt soars with audible recollections of white noise hallucinations, throbbingly drenched trajectory, signaled outter-mind melts, and the crevasses of slime your brain still secretes, every so often. It’s like being lost at sea, adrift the clouds, as Parashi navigates the aircraft above dunes of blue, and you gotta strap up and pour more fuel into the tank. Parashi turns with a thumb up, there’s a fear trickling down each disk of your spine, Pilot’s Salt is now whipping through the air as the door is opened, and you step out onto the wing.
Pilot’s Salt is more like the record you only put on for people who are in an inquisitive mood. Can be ANYONE mulling over deep shit on the mental too. Parashi isn’t here to construct a paradise for listeners, but a puzzle that beholds answers only you can decipher if they’re corrector. Or plainly, just the right thing to do. Yet, the deeper meaning is within us all, and the person is merely a vessel of decision. What’s your next step? Heading on over to Retrograde Tapes and griping a LP full of Pilot’s Salt by none other than the reality check of Parashi. Listen to the preview below, and head to Retrograde for the whole adventure!
