Happy New Year from your friends at “the Tape”! Did you make any resolutions? Did you plan for any big changes? Did you decide that you would use 2015 chasing the feeling of obliterating one’s entire self? If you did, I come bearing great news. Swans have announced their first North American dates for our new year 2015. On occasion, listening to a Swans song has been known to feel like your head’s getting sucked into a black hole. As such, this should be assistive in that obliteration goal.
Last year, Swans put out To Be Kind, their 13th full-length album and third since reforming in 2010. It was very well-received. The group also recently reissued their 1983 debut album Filth, which is like looking back at a person’s baby pictures knowing that person would grow into someone who can make your head explode.
