After releasing 2013’s Pull My Hair Back (which was nominated for the Polaris Music Prize), Jessy Lanza returns to the spotlight, this time with DJ Spinn and Taso. While the track isn’t footwork, the TEKLIFE members provide Lanza with similarly sparse, moody production around which Lanza coils her thin, mournful vocals. The track is off Lanza’s You Never Show Your Love EP — out July 24 on Hyperdub — which includes a TEKLIFE remix from the late DJ Rashad.
Meanwhile, both Lanza and Spinn are working on full-lengths for Hyperdub. Stay tuned.
