After a series of reunion shows this past year, everybody loves The Replacements again. (As they rightly should.) Cool dads AND their prepubescent cool offspring can both wear their same flannel shirts together, as they sing along to the songs that helped put Minneapolis on the punk rock map in the 1980s. Touching, right?
And now, thanks to Rhino, they can enjoy this beautiful family bonding time, as they listen to a new limited edition 4LP collection called The Replacements: The Twin/Tone Years on Vinyl. Featuring the band’s first three studio LPS (Sorry Ma, Forgot to Take Out the Trash, Hootenanny, and Let It Be) plus the Stink EP, this whole glorious deal hits stores on August 11 as part of Record Store Day’s Vinyl Tuesday.
“What about those other LPs?” you’re probably asking. Well, never fear, because Rhino wants to make some money off of them, too! (JK, Rhino — love ya!) Later this year, you’ll be able to pick up a vinyl boxed set featuring The Replacements 1985-1990 Sire Records output.
