Another time, in another city, across an entire continent, or two, 2 8 1 4 has drifted from the CD-R likes of Dream Catalogue to the West Coast reel of Not Not Fun. That’s right, the sold-out, late-night, half-lit burner Atarashī Ni~Tsu no Tanjō is casually leaking its way from your speakers into the air around your room in almost a gaseous imminence, and is the perfect mix of the city-scape, a club three-doors down, that party where everyone knows your name, whilst trying instead to achieve piece of mind by staying at home. “恢复 (Huīfù)” is this peace. Like the cover-art color suggests, this is exactly the vision your eyes filter light. It’s clean and maybe all these samples are from that other city, or time. Maybe it’s not unheard of to traverse plans from Dream Catalogue to Not Not Fun. Shit, for all I’m concerned, Atarashī Ni~Tsu no Tanjō is another hunk of gold garnishing the Not Not Fun discography, amongst an array of ambient releases (Innercity, Invisible Path, Super Minerals, etc.). OUT SOON!
