Pitchfork sold to media company Condé Nast

·

According to The New York Times, Pitchfork has been sold to Condé Nast, a media company that owns Wired, The New Yorker, Vogue, and many other print and digital media brands. According to its chief digital officer Fred Santarpia, Pitchfork brings “a very passionate audience of millennial males into our roster.”

“Pitchfork is incredibly fortunate to have found in Condé Nast a team of people who share our commitment to editorial excellence,” said Pitchfork founder/chief executive/friend of the site Ryan Schreiber in a statement. “Their belief in what we do, combined with their additional expertise and resources, will allow us to extend our coverage of the artists and stories that shape the music landscape on every platform.”

The purchase amount is undisclosed, but I’m guessing it’s enough that TMT can hit them up for money from time to time. Check your inbox, P4k!
