Other People announces four-night residency at Trans-Pecos with William Basinksi, Teenage Jesus, Afrika Bambaataa

·

Trans-Pecos is a small, dark venue located in Ridgewood, Queens that showcases experimental artists who do weird things that will make you want to take part in your own weirdness. For example, earlier this month during Wolf Eyes’ record release show, opening band Yellow Tears ended their set with one of the guys going outside and washing himself in a portable shower he built.

You can witness weirdness like this and more by attending the stacked four-night residency event curated by Nicolas Jaar and his record label Other People. Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, Ancient Astronaut, Afrika Bambaataa, DJ Slugo, William Basinski, and many more will fill the upstairs and the basement from December 8-11. And it will probably be crowded. With any luck, you’ll find yourself brushing up against someone who you thought was really weird but connect with on a deeper level, opening up a part of you that you didn’t think existed. Then you’ll ending up dancing to Jaar’s three-hour DJ set with your new friend.
