Tinashe is pop music’s secret weapon (which, coincidentally, happens to be the name of one of her songs). After building a reputation on a series of mixtapes that straddle the line between Top 40 gloss and leftfield edginess, the L.A.-based singer’s major label debut Aquarius saw the single “2 On” getting radio airplay and the 22-year-old opening tours for Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry.
Soon she’ll be back with her follow-up, Joyride — slated for release sometime later this year — and starting in February, R&B’s secretly most prolific performer will be taking the show on the road… and over the ocean… and on planes. It’s a worldwide tour is what I’m trying to say. The North American leg wraps in April, before Tinashe jets over to Europe, Asia, New Zealand, and Australia.
