In a world where many things are going to s*&^ (insert the disaster of the day, whatever people are feuding about on Twitter, whatever reality TV monster just got a lip gloss endorsement deal), Unsound Krakow just keeps getting better. The oh-so-experimental festival has just announced their first wave of Artists (yes, with a capital “A”), including Matmos, Forest Swords, Ancient Methods & Cindytalk and PC Music’s Felicita.
But wait! There’s more! Unsound will be curating a series of events in Russia over the next coupla years, so the fest is showcasing some ultra cool, under-the-radar artists from the region, as well as Central Asia and the Caucasus, including Samo, a traditional band from Tajikistan, Ordo Sakhna (from Kyrgyzstan), and Sote (from Iran). All that, plus an installation named “Treasure Map 2” by Tom Ellard, a talk from Johannes Klabbers titled “How Can A Posthumanist Be?,” and much more.
To get the full lineup, visit Unsound’s website. Full festival passes sold out in record time, but tickets to individual events are set to be released. The festival takes place over October 16-23.
