Sunny Day Real Estate’s How It Feels finally repressed on vinyl, early catalog reissued on cassette

·

Sunny Day Real Estate, the revered Seattle group that unfortunately spawned a ton of shitty imitators, have teamed with Sub Pop to reissue part of their catalog on cooler-than-CD formats. The band will see their first three albums — Diary, LP2, and How It Feels To Be Something On — reissued on cassette, as well as a “Limited Loser Edition” (for real) yellow vinyl repress of How It Feels, which had been long out of print.

All reissued formats will be released August 5. Go to Sub Pop’s Mega Mart to pre-order.

Having originally disbanded in 2001, Sunny Day Real Estate attempted to record new music following a 2009 reunion tour, but original bassist Nate Mendel (Foo Fighters) said the sessions “just fell apart.” However, Sunny Day Real Estate did unveil a track from the failed sessions, “Lipton Witch,” which was released in 2014 on a split 7-inch for Record Store Day.
