Lil Jabba’s 2013 debut album, Scales, was as good as it was overlooked. Which means it was fucking superb: a beautifully-eclectic footwork effort filled to the brim with out-of-the-box ideas. Now, the New York producer announced that his sophomore LP, titled GROTTO, will come through Local Action the day before Halloween (October 30).
Apparently, Jabba has been working on it on-and-off since the very release of Scales, “saving back the best bits from EP sessions.” Of those he put out three: Gully and 47 in 2014, and Keep in 2015; the EPs took his forward-thinking sound even further away from its Chicago roots.
