Miyako Koda of Japanese avant-pop band dip in the pool released her first and only solo album, Jupiter, back in 1998. Japan’s 17853 Records has just released an iteration of this album, In the Shadow of Jupiter, which features original remixes by Chee Shimizu, Jordan GCZ, and some other un-Googleably obscure names. “Butter” is the only included single that’s been left untouched, understandably, as Koda’s quietly hilarious and swirlingly weird spoken word is basically perfect how it was, as it is, and across the universe.
Stream the whole album on 17853’s Soundcloud, and pre-order the LP through Japan’s Organic Music.
