Dawn Richard to save us all with “Redemption” tour and a new video clip

·

Whoa. Did you guys see that? The month of July just got this all-smug and superior look on it’s stupid face ever since D∆WN (a.k.a. “American singer-songwriter, actress and animator” Dawn Richard) announced that she’d be embarking on a small, royal procession through the US and Canada “exclusively” within its borders.

Creatively christened the “Redemption” tour, the jaunt follows (don’t blame me; the press release say this:) “hot on the heels” of last year’s Redemption album and will see the empress of outer-space future pop taking her electrifying, death-defying, stupefying live show from Detroit to New York…with a li’l stop-in over at Chicago’s Pitchfork Fest along the way. And all this is taking place EXCLUSIVELY…yup—in JULY! (What a world.) Oh well. Tickets are on-sale now over at Stub Hub or wherever. Let’s just try to accept it.

Happily, though, July doesn’t get to hog ALL the glory. In celebration of being friggin’ D∆WN all the time, Dawn Richard has also just shared a brand new video for her track “LA (feat. Trombone Shorty)” from Redemption…and it’s only April! WIN.

A noir-y, black-and-white high-five to the city of Los Angeles (and to D∆WN’s dancing), the clip was directed and produced by frequent collaborator Monty Marsh (who also directed previous vids for “Not Above That” and “Billie Jean x Dance”. Check it out down below, and revel in the fact that, unlike the July tour (which is also lurking around down there), you can re-watch this clip ANY TIME OF YEAR you FEEL LIKE.
