Swedish teen producer Toxe announces Vinyl Factory debut and audio-visual project Morning Story

·

Following her Staycore debut Muscle Memory in 2015, the fresh-outta-high school, 19-year-old,
Britney Spears-spearing, LITERAL wunderkind known as Toxe has announced the imminent release of an ambitious new “experimental audio-visual work” entitled Morning Story, courtesy of The Vinyl Factory. (For comparison: I picked up golf-balls at a driving range for a living when I was 19.)

Described as a “collaboration with artist Niclas Hille,” the new work will see release as a short film to be released online next month, with the underlying music being served-up simultaneously on 300, 180-gram discs of “limited edition” vinyl and 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 copies of weightless digital download.

“The story grew around the process of me moving out, leaving the country, creating a new home and how it all felt similar to the feeling of me as a kid building debris huts in the forest, pretending to be a grown up,” says Toxe, who recently moved to Berlin. “How this process was happening so fast like I just woke up all sweaty in a new place without knowing how I got there. A morning story, really freaky, pretty, fresh and surreal.” Hey! Weird! “Morning Story” is the album’s name too!

And speaking of “morning stories,” Morning Story is out May 5 (alongside the film). But just in case you’re some impatient 19-year-old kid who can’t wait that long, you can pre-order it here in the mean time (if you’ve got $ saved-up from your meager, pain-in-the-ass day job). Oh yeah, and check out Toxe’s recent “stomach-churning” Fader mix, which features some of the new material (good news there: getting your stomach churned is totally free)!
