The War On Drugs share comeback single “Thinking of a Place,” announce tour dates in just about every place you can think of

·

It’s been three years since the release of The War On Drugs’ Best Album of the Year list-topping Lost in the Dream — which, by today’s insanely fickle pop culture standards, makes the band’s brand new single feel like a resurrection from the dead.

“Thinking of a Place,” which marks the band’s debut for Atlantic Records, came out as a special 12” on Record Store Day and heralds the yet-to-be-announced fourth LP (coming soon, apparently!). Produced by the group’s founder and main honcho Adam Granduciel and recorded and mixed by Shawn Everett, the eleven-minute long epic is somehow even more Dire Straits’esque than all of their other Dire Straits’esque songs! (And yes, that’s a good thing.)

Granduciel and core live members Dave Hartley, Robbie Bennett, Charlie Hall, Anthony LaMarca, and Jon Natchez are about to take their music on one heck of a tour, too; they will perform in thirty-odd North American and European cities between late September and November. Crane your neck and eyesballs down towards the bottom of the page for the full itinerary (after you listen to “Thinking of a Place” right down below, that is):
