John Maus returns to tour the US, becomes the pitiless censor of Donald Trump’s tweets

·

Perhaps sensing that, amidst the nigh-apocalyptic madness currently gripping the world, we humans have never ever EVER been more in dire need of truly pitiless-ass motherfucking censorship, the legendary alien superhero and avant-synth pop god John “Mighty” Maus has flown back to earth to help get our dumb mammalian butts back in-line.

As Brooklyn Vegan reports, Maus hasn’t graced us with his otherworldly presence since 2012. And while there still haven’t been any rumblings of new music from chillwave’s erstwhile crusader, he’s officially back on the scene for a heroic string of live dates later this summer, including recently announced appearances at this year’s Basilica Soundscape festival and an upcoming spot on MoMA’s PS1 Warm Up.

And let’s face it, you guys: short of him heroically reversing the rotation of the earth to save us ignorant primates from our own CATASTROPHICALLY INJURIOUS SELVES, this is pretty much the best John Maus can do for this woebegone rock. While you’re waiting for August to arrive, revisit We Must Become the Pitiless Censors of Ourselves’s GROUNDLESSLY hopeful “Keep Pushing On,” and keep your hairy, primate fingers crossed that we can hold out until then.
