Well, for whatever reason, Daniel Dumile and Adult Swim abruptly severed ties at the end of last month…which means that anyone hoping for what would ultimately amount to a new solo full-length from the enigmatic rapper should probably get to work configuring their Google Alerts (the man’s got like 57 monikers to keep up with, after all).
Or, I guess a simpler tact might be to just follow MF DOOM’s Facebook page, which is currently alight with mentions of the new colorful reissue of Operation: Doomsday, the classic beginning to DOOM’s capricious career and the first introduction for many to his distinct flow. It’s obviously not the same thing as a new DOOM album, but maybe the vibrancy of the vinyl will mitigate the wait without giving you brain damage.
The release is spread across seven 7-inch records contained as a box-set, and — besides each individual piece of vinyl’s distinct rainbow hue — the release also features never-before-seen artwork from Lord Scotch (the guy behind the original Operation: Doomsday artwork), as well as two 45 adapters in the shape of DOOM’s trademark mas.
The whole MF set is expected to ship November 20 in an edition of 1,500; so if you previously missed out on the double cassette release or the famed lunchbox, you know the drill: pre-order now, and pre-order hard.
