All told, by the time 2017 ends, Future Islands will have played 117 shows. Having played to some of their biggest crowds yet, the band have a lot to show for their extended time on the road. They topped festival bills all over! They headlined three straight nights at the internationally-renowned Brixton Academy in London! They played in Wyoming!
To celebrate, Future Islands have released a new music video that specifically highlights the live energy and intensity that makes them a band worth booking 117 times over. Directed by Jay Buim, the video is, fittingly enough, for the song “Beauty of the Road,” off of this year’s The Far Field.
Watch “Beauty of the Road,” and marvel at Samuel T. Herring’s facial hair and on-stage gesticulations, down below. While there, you can also check out some of Future Islands’ just-announced European tour dates, because apparently this band will never stop. The Far Field continues to be out now.
