Domo Genesis (Odd Future) drops Aren’t U Glad You’re U? mixtape, shares video for “Me vs. Me”

·

Is Los Angeles rapper Domo Genesis about to popularize the slav squat with the non-Eastern European of us? Tough to tell, but pulling off the infamous pose on a tree stump like he’s been chasing vodka with 11% ABV beer his whole life is one way to try. That’s exactly what Genesis is doing in the video for “Me vs. Me,” which premiered last Friday and comes off the rapper’s new Evidence-produced mixtape Aren’t U Glad You’re U, which also dropped this past weekend.

Besides a life-long obsession with English pronouns and the myriad of ways to spell them, Domo Genesis is known as one of the earlier additions to L.A. alt-rap supergroup Odd Future (having joined in 2009). To date, he’s put out one proper LP, 2016’s Genesis, five self-released mixtapes, and several collaborative ones (including a TMT-covered album with the Alchemist, No Idols).
