I’ve prided myself on being a techno head, but for various reasons I’ve veered into different sonic terrain the past few years. Sometimes you just need a break! When I tune in to the dark club vibes of mystery Swedish duo Shxcxchcxsh, a wave of excitement washes over me upon pressing play. No, I probably won’t be hitting the clubs or basement shows anytime soon, but Shxcxchcxsh are the real deal, and have proven that over several albums, singles, and live shows. We should feel confident that underground club music is in good hands.
For their latest single, “ggg,” coming out as part of the Limits of Existence compilation series from Berlin based Falling Ethics Eleven, the track opens with eerie David Lynch soundscapes before delivering a hard hitting rhythm. In other words, it’s just what you’d want to hear from Shxcxchcxsh, and our young year in music is all the better for it.
Limits of Existence Vol. II drops March 16, with the above mentioned “ggg” along with new tracks from Ex Continent and 65D Mavericks. Dig deep and let the jams take control :)
