For a second there it looked like No Kings Record Cadre., the imprint started by outsider/experimental music producers Lee Noble and Stephen Molyneux, might be on its way out. With only a few tape releases since 2015 (including one from Noble), the imprint was self-admittedly “taking a long break;” now, however, it seems like things are about to pick up steam again.
On April 10, the label will put out a new tape from Molyneux, titled A Jaguar Mask. Just like some of the musician’s more recent releases, the cassette will showcase explorations of “post-industrialized folk music and its intersection[s] with ambient drone,” with the chosen instrument of the people being cheap synthesizers.
