Welp. Say what you will about Anton Newcombe — the man is NO LIAR.
A week or two back, we told you all about the Brian Jones Massacre frontman’s ultra-ambitious plans for a new 10-inch, tour dates galore, and TWO new full-length releases. Sounded like a bunch of that swaggery-ass, sunglasses-at-night, rock n’ roll talk-talk at the time, didn’t it?
Well, eat shit, doubters; cuz Newcombe is already BACK AS FUCK to make good on the next phase in his slow and careful domination of the year 2018 C.E. with the official announcement of Something Else, the first of two (yes TWO) new BJM full-length releases planned for 2018. Coming June 1 via Newcombe’s own A Recordings label, the nine-track album reportedly marks a return to the “traditional sound of the band.”
It’ll be available on single-CD and single-vinyl formats, and GUESS WHAT ELSE, SMART GUY? You can already pre-order this bad boy right over here. Feeling pretty salty right about now, aren’t you?
Yeah. While you wait and feel stupid, check out a “rough version” of the entire album that nice guy Newcombe beneficently uploaded to YouTube late last year while he was working on it — as well as the flower power-y video clip for album opener “Hold That Thought” — down below. Seeing (and hearing) is fucking believing. I believe in you, Anton. You ARE the Pan.
