Here is a venn diagram of people who listen to minimal techno and people who research cryptids on the internet:
Nestled right in the very center of that diagram is Paul Ritch. The Parisian producer rose quickly to fame (well, minimal techno fame, which is a lot like being popular in a dark magic cult) with straightforward, stern-faced techno. Yet he’s always had a certain mystery. You may not even have heard of the guy unless you’re part of a European crypto-sonic underground association. (You might be, and you don’t even know it!)
Now, Ritch is returning to his cryptic alias of Kaczmarek for a new record on the label KCZMRK, which, um, only releases Kaczmarek records. Is that a clue? The new record, K.A.C.Z.M.A.R.E.K., comes out this October 8.
10.08.18_K.Cz>mRk… 4, 3, 0… Two birds with one stone…
The music of Kaczmarek is anything but straightforward broody dance music. It is full of extraterrestrial textures and broken, coded rhythms. It is leaving a trail of breadcrumbs for you — only you — to follow. When Ritch finds his hidden auquatic skin and returns to his original form of Kaczmarek, it will already be too late.
Immediately after its release, KCZMRK will prepare a follow-up remix EP two months later (a final dossier, if you will) starring the likes of Token’s Antigone, Museum, Adiel, and Iori.
Check out below the teaser video for K.A.C.Z.M.A.R.E.K., which features original visual art from painter Sasha Sime. You only have so much time to crack the code. Hurry!
