The Caretaker releases Stage 5 of his six-album series on dementia, Everywhere at the end of time

·

We’re almost at the end (of time). The Caretaker’s massive six-part series on dementia, Everywhere at the end of time, sees the release of its penultimate installment today with Stage 5. It is described thusly by James Leyland Kirby: “More extreme entanglements, repetition and rupture can give way to calmer moments. The unfamiliar may sound and feel familiar. Time is often spent only in the moment leading to isolation.”

Stage 4 was released earlier this year. It was described thusly by our writer Sam Goldner (who, by the way, gave it a EUREKA! review): “Lined with four completely formless 20+ minute tracks that tear at the seams of Kirby’s 78-sampling approach, the fourth installment of Everywhere at the end of time is the most immersive, unsettling album that The Caretaker has produced since An empty bliss.”

Stream Stage 5 below (starts at track 43), and grab a 2xLP copy from Boomkat here. Stage 6, meanwhile, is planned for March 2019. Get ready to crumble.
