Scottish post-rockers Pilotcan prep first album in 14 years, with follow-up and compilation already in the (Pilot)can

·

Reader, baby, do you like Sriracha?

Do you long to turn the clock back a couple o’ years, to that brief moment where Sriracha capitivated Western food but hadn’t yet reached the threshold where saturation curdles into fatigue?

At least according to their new record’s tracklist, Scottish shoegaze/post-rock foursome Pilotcan feels your pain.

Wait, whoops, there we go burying the lede again. You can check out that track list below and see for yourself what I’m talking about — I’m talkin’ about track 9, the mysteriously named “Grackles (Bring Back Sriracha).”

But wait, BEFORE you do that, here’s what you need to know about Pilotcan: They are readying a new album, their first in 14 years, entitled Bats Fly Out From Under the Bridge.

It’s the group’s fourth full-length overall. Per a press release, it was written in Austin, Texas but recorded in the group’s home country, Scotland.

In addition to Bats Fly Out From Under the Bridge, Pilotcan have loads more material in the pipeline, with Bats Fly Out From Under the Bridge’s follow-up already recorded and planned for release next year as well as a compilation album of singles, Peel sessions and unreleased material.

For now, check out the album track “Daylight Savings Time” down below and grab the full the album here.
