Eris Drew and Octo Octa launch new label, T4T LUV NRG, with a new mixtape and the promise of a new double album

·

Today, I feel very lucky. Not only because two DJs that I dearly love have launched a brand new record label, but because I don’t need to describe to you all what it’s like to be trans and be sharing in love and sex and tears and joy and dance with someone else who is also trans. Instead, Octo Octa and Eris Drew are doing that work for me.

Continuing the work of their DJ night of the same name, the two lovers have launched T4T LUV NRG in order to celebrate their “love of magic, nature, and each other.”

The label has launched with a new mixtape from Drew, called Raving Disco Breaks Vol. 1 which aims, as Drew describes on her Instagram, “to build a sound out of fragments in the tradition of the mixtapes I loved growing up.” The cuts are heavy on the 90’s-disco-rave stuff, with dashes of break and Miami bass throughout. All proceeds from the mixtape, which is available now on Bandcamp, will go to the Sylvia Rivera Law Project.

As if that wasn’t enough, the lovebirds have also announced that the label’s second release will be a double album from Octo Octa, her first full-length since 2017’s Where Are We Going? and a direct follow up to her For Lovers EP, one of our first quarter favorites from this year.

Yes, I feel very lucky indeed. This love is a love like no other. Now it’s time to go order my new vanity plate: T4T 4EVR!
