Like the charm of Medusa staring back at the listener, Body Awareness casts a spell upon listeners with track “Venice Of The East” off new Not Not Fun cassette, The Awakening. It’s been a minute since Body Awareness’ Self Titled C18, but The Awakening has been in the making for a few years now, utilizing old Roland machines (SH-101, MC-202, TR-505, TR-606 and TR-707), with the exception of some field recordings, and “Venice Of The East” is one of the seven offerings this tape reels. Beat driven awareness like a belly-dance encircled by cobras weaving in and out of harmony with the melody, gracing the brink of complete hypnosis, while hanging onto the threads of murk that twitches limbs into a slow paced movement. Feel free to dance within “Venice Of The East.” Body Awareness is merely setting the dance floor. It’s up to you to press play below and burn it all down. And find The Awakening on Not Not Fun June 17!
